The MDOT MTA is replacing the original program with a new “Future Fare System” (FFS) that shall be a modern, account-based fare collection system operational by the middle of 2023. The new Future Fare System will expand the retail network to provide transit customers with a secure and convenient option for FFS fare media and stored value purchases.
