Gov. Larry Hogan continues to earn high marks in Anne Arundel County, while President Donald Trump faces more skepticism from local residents, according to a newly released survey.
Researchers from the Center for the Study of Local Issues at Anne Arundel Community College asked county residents to rate the Republican leaders as part of a wide-ranging poll conducted between March 25 and 30.
Respondents were more than twice as likely to approve of Hogan, who earned a 76 percent favorable rating, than of Trump, who had the approval of 35 percent of the 521 people surveyed.
The governor, who has been consistently popular throughout his time in office, had his highest approval rating yet, with the percentage of respondents who view him favorably climbing by 4 percentage points since the previous countywide poll was conducted in fall 2016. Twelve percent of respondents disapproved of his job in office, and another 12 percent were unsure.
