Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker received the guarantee he was looking for last week from the Maryland General Assembly for funding a new teaching hospital in Largo.
Now he’s trying to put pressure on Gov. Larry Hogan to sign the legislation.
Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker received the guarantee he was looking for Friday from the Maryland General Assembly for funding a new teaching hospital in Largo.
Both chambers of the General Assembly passed a bill Friday requiring full funding for the Prince George’s County Regional Medical Center, which will be built and operated by Dimensions Healthcare System and the University of Maryland Medical System. The House passed the bill March 21, and the Senate, which passed its version March 2, voted to approve the House version Thursday.
Baker said the bill “adds certainty” to plans to build Prince George’s Regional Medical Center.
