Ray Lewis is trying to create jobs and fuel economic empowerment in Baltimore with a new initiative.
Baltimore 1000 is the first extension of the Ferguson 1000 initiative, founded in 2014 on the heels of the unrest in the Missouri city. The goal of the initiative was to “create 1000 jobs” and provide training to people living in low-income or high-crime communities.
Ferguson 1000 has hosted five job fairs in the St. Louis area with participation from several big-name companies including Boeing, IKEA, Nike, Edward Jones, Avon and UPS. And co-founder E. Lance McCarthy partnered with Ray Lewis to bring the initiative to Baltimore.
