Pugh Has Nearly 100 Times More Campaign Cash Than Baltimore Mayoral Rivals

State Sen. Catherine E. Pugh, the Democratic nominee for mayor, has nearly 100 times more campaign cash on hand than her general election rivals.

Pugh has $280,670 in her campaign account, according to finance filings due Tuesday at the State Board of Elections. Republican nominee Alan Walden has $2,983 on hand, according to his latest filing. Green Party candidate Joshua Harris in April filed an affidavit stating he did not plan to raise or spend more than $1,000 in the filing period.

Pugh’s campaign filing shows she has been raising money steadily since narrowly defeating former Mayor Sheila Dixon in April’s Democratic primary election.

Pugh reported raising more than $1 million, including $6,000 from the Beatty Development Group, which is building the Harbor Point project; $6,000 from Baltimore Development Corp. president Bill Cole; and $6,000 from the Ballard Spahr law firm, which represents Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank’s massive Port Covington development.
