Prince George’s Health System CEO To Step Down In 2018

Neil Moore — who was named CEO of Prince George’s County’s main hospital network after its predecessor, Dimensions Healthcare System, merged into the University of Maryland Medical System earlier this year — will leave that job at the end of June.

Moore had led Dimensions Healthcare System — the county’s long-running hospital network that included flagship Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly, Laurel Regional Hospital and Bowie Health Center — since 2012. In all, he has been at Dimensions for about 13 years through its absorption in September into UMMS, its much larger partner helping to build a new teaching hospital, now dubbed the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center, in Largo.

UMMS, which rebranded the Dimensions system in September as University of Maryland Capital Region Health, said Friday it will conduct a national search for Moore’s replacement, bringing on a search firm and convening a search committee to be co-chaired by UMMS President and CEO Robert Chrencik and UM Capital Region Health Chairman Brad Seamon.

In the next six months, Moore will work with leadership teams at UM Capital Region and UMMS on strategic planning and key initiatives. Top priorities for the next CEO, UMMS officials said, include expanding access for primary and specialty care and health education programs to ultimately attract back county and southern Maryland residents who now leave the county for their care.
