Prince George’s Community College has named a new president ahead of longtime president Charlene Dukes’ retirement at the end of June.
Stepping into the role will be Falecia Williams, the current president of two campuses within Valencia College, a community college in Orlando. Williams leads that institution’s downtown and west campuses, which combine for 30,000 students. Valencia College serves 68,000 students systemwide.
Dukes, a Washington Business Journal Women Who Mean Business honoree in 2010, said in October that she would retire in June after serving for 13 years as PGCC’s president and 25 years in all with the community college.
Williams was selected in a national search that was narrowed down to three finalists, PGCC Board of Trustees President Sidney Gibson said.
