Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce President David Harrington is among the many who believe Amazon will occupy the space in the Westphalia development near Joint Base Andrews. And while confidentiality agreements prevent developers and county officials from confirming that, Harrington says it’s a game-changer.
“If I could count on my hand, this is one of the top five projects ever to land in Prince George’s County,” Harrington said.
Planning documents describe a technology-based logistics center where customer orders are fulfilled using high tech robotics, as Amazon does in their other fulfillment centers.
The new distribution center would be right off Presidential Parkway. It would be adjacent to townhomes in Westphalia.
