National Harbor is ramping up efforts to draw in more out-of-town visitors with a new convention and visitors association.
National Harbor Convention & Visitors Association was formed specifically to drive overnight visitation and bring in more people from more than 25 miles away, according to Bruce Gudenberg, the group’s executive director. Gudenberg is also the vice president of marketing for National Harbor and will continue to hold that role.
The group is made up of National Harbor owner Peterson Cos., Gaylord National Resort & Conference Center owner Ryman Hospitality, MGM National Harbor, Tanger Outlets and others, with the three-member board made up of representatives of Peterson, MGM and the Gaylord.
National Harbor CVA has a budget of a little more than $1 million for its first year, Gudenberg said.
