MGM Continues To Dominate Casino Market In Maryland

MGM National Harbor continues to lead the pack among casinos in Maryland.

The Prince George’s County casino generated more than $50.7 million in revenue in July, according to new numbers released by Maryland Lottery and Gaming on Monday.

That was about $4 million more than its next closest competitor, Maryland Live Casino & Hotel, which brought in about $46.8 million last month, a decrease of 22.5 percent from July 2016.

MGM National Harbor, a 1 million-square-foot resort, featuring a 135,000-square-foot casino floor, a 23-story hotel and a 3,000-seat theater, has earned more than any of the state’s other casinos every month since opening in December.

The casino is driving up its parent company’s revenues, already ranking among its top properties. But the resort is likely to change hands sooner rather than later.
