Maryland’s casino industry reported modest growth last month after slumps in September and October.
The state’s six casinos generated $149.1 million in December, a 0.5% increase compared with December 2018. November also brought slight year-over-year growth, with another 0.5% boost.
The increase was driven by gains at three of the state’s casinos. MGM National Harbor had the strongest showing, raking in $62.6 million — a 4.5% increase. Ocean Downs Casino, on the Eastern Shore, reported the second highest growth, 3.7%, with $5.6 million in revenue.
Anne Arundel County’s Live Casino & Hotel also saw an uptick compared with the year before. The casino near Arundel Mills Mall brought in $51.8 million, a 3.4% increase.
Maryland’s other three casinos, including Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore, saw year-over-year declines.
