Kaiser Permanente Planning Huge Expansion In Prince George’s

Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States announced Thursday plans to open a 176,000-square-foot administrative and IT facility by the New Carrollton Metro station.

The new building, located within a planned development from Urban Atlantic and Forest City, will have enough space for 850 employees, accommodating Kaiser’s growth in the region, health system officials said.

Construction on the building adjacent to the Metro station, Prince George’s County’s busiest transportation hub, is expected to be completed by November 2018.

Health system officials said they chose to expand to 4000 Garden City Drive in part because it will provide easy Metro access and walkable surroundings. Building plans include a modern fitness center, on-site dining options and a full conference center.

Prince George’s County did not provide any incentives for the Kaiser expansion, a county official said.
