Howard County will get its first food hall with the opening of The Common Kitchen in Clarksville Commons.
The 6,000-square-foot marketplace off Clarksville Pike will open later this spring, developer GreenStone Ventures II announced Monday. The concept will include 10 independent vendors as well as shelves of packaged goods and a bar selling coffee, juices and cocktails.
None of the tenants have been announced yet, but developer George Stone said they will all be local businesses that were attracted to the project by “the idea of being a part of a community-based collection of entrepreneurs.”
The Common Kitchen is scheduled to open at Clarksville Commons later this spring.
All of the market’s vendors will use a shared, 2,500-square-foot kitchen space to prepare their food. Stone said he was inspired in part by a visit to Tucson’s Mercado San Agustin, which also uses a communal kitchen, though the space “will be different in other respects.”
