Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is pulling the brakes on funding for an Interstate 270 busway, delaying the project for at least six years, according to The Washington Post.
The decision to postpone funding, part of Hogan’s proposed six-year transportation budget, caught some Montgomery County officials by surprise, according to the report.
The transit project was seen as an economic development driver and a way to develop the northwestern part of the county without necessarily adding vehicles to an already-clogged interstate.
