It’s been known for years that the Redskins have been looking to move out of FedEx Field, and now it’s becoming clearer on where a new stadium might be built.
According to the Washington Post, the office of Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan acknowledged Friday that his administration signed a memorandum of understanding in September 2017 with the Interior Department to gain control of Oxon Cove Park & Oxon Hill Farm with a plan to build a stadium there.
The site, a 300-acre tract of land, is adjacent to National Harbor and sits just inside the Beltway in Prince George’s County.
Meanwhile, the Post also reported that Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is working with D.C. officials, congressional Republicans and the Trump administration to include a provision into their spending bill that would help but not guarantee the team returns to the RFK Stadium site with a new stadium.
