Greater Washington had 36 companies make the top 500 of Inc. Magazine’s annual Inc. 5000 list, which tracks the nation’s fastest-growing, privately-owned companies.
Making the top 500 is considered a significant achievement, as it represents that a company is in the fastest 10 percent of growth.
Government-services firm FedBiz IT Solutions was the highest ranking company on the list, placing as the 10th fastest-growing company. FedBiz has a three-year growth rate of 12,621 percent and revenue of $25.8 million. We profiled the company’s CEO, Nina Tiaga, in July for the Washington Business Journal’s 2016 CFO of the Year Awards. Last year was the company’s biggest yet, after it secured a 10-year contract with NASA worth $20 billion.
