The General Services Administration has identified NoMa, Capitol Riverfront and Poplar Point as three potential sites for a new Department of Labor headquarters.
The GSA, the government’s real estate arm, announced in December 2015 it would seek between 850,000 and 1.4 million square feet for Labor, which is now based in the Frances Perkins Building at 200 Constitution Ave. NW.
The short-listed sites for are:
Site 1, referenced as NoMa, located at the intersection of North Capitol Street and New York Avenue NE;
Site 2, referenced as Capitol Riverfront, located at the intersection of M Street and South Capitol Street in Southwest; and
Site 3, referenced as Poplar Point, located in Anacostia and bordered by Interstate 295, Howard Road and Suitland Parkway in Southeast.
