Group Files Suit Against Baltimore, State Elections Boards

BALTIMORE (AP) — A group of Baltimore activists has filed a federal complaint against the city and state elections boards over the most recent election, alleging that voting irregularities irreparably tainted the outcome.

The suit was filed by Voters Organized for the Integrity of City Elections against the Baltimore and Maryland elections boards and both the city and state elections directors.

The group alleges that polling places opening late, malfunctioning machinery and a “staggering number of irregularities” distorted “any sense of confidence in the election results.” Additionally, the suit alleges that one campaign offered food and money to entice voters to cast their ballots in favor of a particular candidate.
