Coalition Wants Annapolis To Focus On Business Growth

A group is advocating more business growth in Annapolis to expand the city’s tax base, as well as provide more jobs for its residents.

Annapolitans for Responsible Development has formed as a “coalition of small business owners, civic activists, and residents that are concerned about the lack of economic growth in Annapolis …” according to the group’s website, a4rd.com.

Walter Vasquez, who founded the group, said supporters of business growth in the city deserved a more-coordinated lobbying effort. This group will push the city to bring in more developments and businesses in the city while still respecting the city’s environmental features.
