Bowser Appoints New Chief D.C. Government Landlord, Construction Manager

The District, as of Friday, will have a new chief landlord and construction manager.

Mayor Muriel Bowser is expected to name Greer Gillis, deputy director of the D.C. Department of Transportation, as the District’s acting director of the Department of General Services — the first woman to serve in that role. She replaces Christopher Weaver, who informed his staff on Wednesday that he would be leaving, essentially immediately, for personal reasons.

Per D.C. City Administrator Rashad Young, Greer has more than 20 years of experience managing infrastructure and construction programs, planning and design, client relations, business development, and financial oversight for projects in the D.C. area.
